The District and Parish Council Elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday 2nd May.

Should anyone be interested in the role of Parish Councillor it is essential that they submit a Nomination Paper in good time.  Nomination papers can be downloaded via the link at the end of this page.

For information, the timetable is as follows:-

  • Wednesday 20th March 2019 – Publication of Notice of Election (Nominations will be accepted from this date but only between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday)
  • Wednesday 3rd April 2019 at 4pm – Deadline for receipt of Nominations (any Nomination Papers received after this time will be rejected).
  • Thursday 4th April 2019 – Publication of Statement of Persons Nominated.
  • Thursday 2nd May 2019 – Election day.

NOTE:   Nomination papers MUST be delivered by hand to the Electoral Services team at Breckland Council.  It is an individual’s responsibility to ensure that their nomination paper is received by the deadline of 4pm on Wednesday 3rd April.

Please also note that there has been a significant change to the nomination pack for this election, with the introduction of a Home Address form, which MUST be completed and delivered together with the Nomination Paper.  This is a new form and gives the candidate the opportunity to keep their home address private if they so wish, i.e. not to be published on any of the Statutory Notices or the Ballot Paper.
